I shoot nitro loads in all my Damascus barreled guns, but I stay around 7500psi or less. Black powder loads in shotguns back in the day would have been about the same, so I see no reason to worry. The barrels don't know if it's BP or nito going off in them. For years my 1873, 1882, 1889, and 1894's Remingtons with Damascus barrels have all held up shooting one or the other three times a week at skeet, trap, 5- stand or sporting clays. And I'm sure at one time or another someone before me shot modern high pressure loads in them.
