Rolling Block #1 Sporting Rifle Question

Has anyone seen an original #1 Sporting Rifle with a Saddle Ring receiver?
I saw one recently and the seller claims it to be original. Barrel, block and hammer are 95+% original blue, while the receiver is faded case as is the rear ladder sight. Tang has been tapped for a vernier (probably after it left the factory).
Gun is excellent overal......but the receiver bothers me.
I can imagine why someone would order a #1 RIFLE with a 27.75" barrel and feel the need for a saddle ring.

Any Thoughts?

PS Seller is a reliable company. But that doesn't mean they are somewhat uneducated in the #1's.

Wonder why someone wouldn't just order the saddlering carbine model?
