Got it in today. Felt like it took a year! LOL
The barrel serial # matches the receiver. It's original. Not sure why it's not marked "11-C"
Another oddity - The forend has the # "4" stamped on it - As in #4, or D grade wood. I haven't got to the buttstock, and probably won't for a few days. The recoil does not look original, however the stock isn't cut. It still has the curve to it. Easy fix, there.

I know next to nothing about model 11's. I would expect a fancier gun if your labeling this as a C-grade?? At least some sort of engraving on the receiver??
Re: Calling RESEARCHER! - Remington Model 11 C Trap Grade
Engraving didn't start until the D grade. This was also known as the "Trap" grade.
I've not seen many of these. Honestly I would say I've seen more D grades than C grades.

I have some model 11's, and they all have some sort of engraving or I would say stamping of ducks or pheasants on them. I know none of them are higher grade. Sportmans grade maybe? I guess I could be learning something. What would make yours different? Is it choked different for trap? It's hard for me to tell does it have a solid rib on the barrel?

Got ya! I found it. Yes the recoil pad is not original. It came with a hard plastic style butt plate. 14" leingth of pull. So if yours has not been cut you will need some long arms. The one I found was a members that sold at auction with an estimate of $2500-$3500. This one looks near mint.

Yes it has a solid rib. 28" barrel.
The roll stamped bird scenes didn't come along until about 1930.
The Sportsman models were just 3 shot versions of the Model 11. They modifieed the design to shorten the mag tube. It changed the forearm and magazine cap from the original design.
The "Trap" grade had a nicer grade of wood and checkering with the straight grip.
I would value this one around $1,200 or so. May be hard to get that out of it, though.
The one that RIA sold last year for $1700+ was nicer than this one, admitedly.

I have to say that guns certainly appears to have been reblued. Good looking job, but not original.
What could have happened... did.

Not sure why you think that, Virginian. I've seen a lot of reblued and original 11's. It looks right to me, and that's up close and personal.
What makes you think that in the pics?

I felt it was reblued as well. At least the receiver. I just didn't want you to think I was picking at it.
Re: Calling RESEARCHER! - Remington Model 11 C Trap Grade
Enough marks on the stock, plus that recoil pad tells me it was shot quite a bit, and yet that receiver is mighty close to absolutely pristine. Doesn't add up, sorry.
