E.Remington rolling block rifle

Post by TonyJ »

Hello,
I have an E.Remington rolling block rifle that i am trying to determine the Model and DOM.
there are some hard to read Patent dates on the receiver. The Serial # 10873.

I mailed Remington and they told me it may be a Model #1 ,and they had no data on the DOM.
The rifle is 38'' overall. Barrel is 23'' long. Caliber is 32 Rimfire.

I attached some pictures.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

You definitely have a Model #2 Rolling Block. The shape of the receiver rear is the give away as it is the only RB rifle with that type. Also the purch belly stock is another mark of a #2. I have no idea of manufacture date. Probably prior 1894.

You have a good eye. The pics i put up were not the best.
The Receiver as you say is at an angle with the stock.Think i described that correctly.

Tony
