Remington NM Army #65591

Post by dlon21 »

Glad I found this forum, looks great with tons of great info :D

Anyhow, I'm very curious to find out when this gun was manufactured. It's the same number on the frame and barrel.

Merry Christmas, best wishes!

Based on the research by Slim Kohler and Don Ware, your Remington New Model Army revolver's delivery date to the Ordnance Department would have been (approximately) during March 1864, as part of the contract of Nov. 21, 1863. Deliveries that month totalled 4000 units and would have been serial numbered in the range of 59205 through 65800.

Hope this helps in your search, and please think about signing up as a member for a year.

Good luck,
