shooting the smoot - a neophyte's question

Post by jgabriel »

Hello again,
I am not an avid shooter of antiques - hard on the guns. But I've long had the habit of taking newly aquired guns out to fire Many tanks! Many at least once, just to verify that every one in my humble collection is "a real gun and still kicks".

I wanted to find some 32 short RF and finally got a box of Canuck. They chamber OK, but the bullet seems too large when I test fit it into the bore. Are these safe to shoot in a smoot #2? Many thanks!

I used that same Canuck ammo years ago in my Smoot and it worked fine except I couldn't hit anything, Jay Huber RSA

Hi Jay,
I've been away from this for awhile, but did appreciate your reply. Apparently, these Canuck are a modest load. Hitting anything at all is something else, but I do like to feel that these old pistols are still alive.
Best,
John
