model 11

I have recently found out that i might have a model 11. 12 gauge was just wondering why and if the goose ingravings on it where normal.

Im not much of a shotgun person, but I know enough that yours sounds like a model 11. Remington at one time built some shotguns called the model 11 on the Browning design. Thats where the Browning patent comes from on the barrel. Your shotgun if a model 11 should look just like a Browning A5. It should have a box shaped reciever. As for the goose engraving I am not completely sure, but my guess I would say they probably did do that on some.

Should be a duck on one side and a pheasant on the other. This is normal after some time in the mid 30's.
