Early 40x Sporter Dating

Hello,
I need help dating an early 40X Sporter with a serial # of 40219B

Click on "Manufacture Dates" on the home page. It will give you the month and year of manufacture.

I have already....No help......These were custom shop guns

You should still have date codes on the barrel. You need to call remington with the serial number and they will tell you.

He is right. I forgot that most of my custom shop Rems do not have a barrel code. 629 40-X sporters were sold between 1970 & 1980. The first serial number was 35704-B. The last was 52000-B. The numbers must have been included with another model or models.

For what it's worth I ordered a 40X Sporter 7-29-77 from ID, told 12-18 mo. delivery,don't have date received handy. It has ser.#425xxB. Hope this helps
