Historical find REMINGTON .22 CANE GUN

Post by DonLew17 »

Gentlemen I met a fellow gun enthusiast that has a cane gun he asked me to clean it and make it function. As soon as I saw it I knew it is very old. I researched sites on cane guns and I found that this resembles a Remington I compared it to the patent drawings posted on line by the American Society of arms Collectors . With one or two excetions First it has a Silver ball on top that is deeply sculpted secondly the muzzle ferrule has the number 100 on it. The ferrule is quite rusted on side opposite to the number so I haven't found any evidence of a remington name engraved on it. I have only lightly cleaned the outer surface the rifling in the bore is very good I would like to post some pics and ask for confirmation of identity pic files are to big If anyone answers to my email I would send pics to them Thanks for reading Don
