A few questions, clues and thoughts........

Does your rifle have a black fore end tip and grip cap......or, does it have a "Classic" stock?

Go to this website and look at the (white-on-black) image in the upper left corner of the home page and see if that matches the image on the floorplate.

http://www.wildsheepfoundation.org/

If so, the foundation (FNAWS) had/has annual fund-raising banquets and has had Remington create unique firearms and engraved floorplates for them. I know, because I did computer consulting work for them in the late 80s and early 90s and have an engraved floorplate that they gave me (with their FNAWS letter logo but no ram image) from 1990.

The .222 Remington was the cartridge chambered for the 700 Classic in 1993.

N - 1993 - 222 Rem - 2021 (number made)

Did you specifically check the barrel date code? What is it?

Could be a dinner/auction gun from FNAWS or some other organization.
Could be something that someone made up from spare parts.
May or may not be anything connected to FNAWS or any of its state affiliates.
The image on the floorplate would not have been something that Remington produced for "stock" firearms......only special orders for organizations like the one mentioned.

Interesting. I'm sorry, but I don't have a clue on the floorplate issue.
I believe Remington was putting out some machine-engraved 700s sometime in the 1990s, but I haven't seen one in quite awhile and I'm not sure if that's the type of engraving they used on the receivers, either. I kinda doubt that they would engrave the floorplates with specific pictures like that. Someone else might want a mule or whitetail deer or antelope or something else.

I think the left "O S" is probably the date code. "O" would be July. The "S" would put it in 1998.

I dunno......

but the A0 could be march 1994 and if the 0 is a poorly stamped Q.it would be march 1996 ????
who would know about a 700 like this
perhaps the serial # could give a more positve year of manufacture
ser# is E64571xx

any help is greatly appreciated

I'm glad you posted the serial number. I meant to mention it in my previous post.
The "E" prefix puts it in the latter half of the 1990s. In the mid-70s, they started the letter prefix with "A" and have incremented it at five-year intervals......"B" for early 80s, "C" for late 80s, "D" for early 90s and "E" for late 90s.

So, I'm going to stick with my interpretation of the date codes. It doesn't help us solve the engraving questions, but you're in the latter 90s with the serial number.

Remington in the 90s started machine engraving some of there 700BDLs. It was a standard thing for a while. I believe there are still doing some of the floor plates like on the 17 fireball. They did run some for Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and they even did a limited run for Anhieser Busch.
The 222 Rem was known to be the worlds most accurate caliber.
