Remington Rolling Block Saddle Ring Carbine Parts Needed

Post by ddhappycat »

Hello: I recently bought a Remington Rolling Block Carbine with patent
date "Octr 22ND, 1907." It has a 20.5 inch round barrel. It's a 7-MM
and suspect it was a Mexican Contract (not sure). It has a three-piece
wood stock with one band which holds the handguard to the lower stock.
I need the band (oval shaped, side swivel, OD dimensions 1.5 inches;
band width 1.25 inches). I also need the rear sight of which the base
is held onto the bbl by two screws. The base measures 1 1/8 inches long
x 3/8 inch wide. The sight has a spring held flip-up leaf sight with slider.
There is no serial no. that I can find. The stamping on the upper tang:
REMINGTON ARMS CO.
ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.
PATENTED OCTR. 22ND 1907
Any info and help will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like we have the same model, my markings are the same; though on mine the patent date looks more like 1901. I have posted a message much like yours but so far no hits on someone helping me ID the weapon. I will make you a deal though. Provided no one tells me that mine has major collector value and should stay as is, I am planning on stripping it and rebarrelling/re-stocking. For the cost of shipping, I will send you whatever you want, (be fore-warned I live in Alaska). My barrel band is in decent shape, and I'm not sure you'd want the rear sight as it is fairly chewed, (I'm not even sure I can get the thing off the barrel). I'd like to wait @ least a month to see if anyone is going to reply to my message, though I sincerely doubt that these weapons have any serious colector value, you never know. If this sounds like a plan, reply via this board and we'll figure out how to get it done from there.
