I'm new here, but a long time Remington fan. Right now I have several Model 12's. And now I've time to fiddle with them. The problem is with a Model 12-A.
None of the marks, codes, etc appear on this rifle. I have a serial number on the bottom of the receiver where the slide enters ( 513XXX ) and the initial "RW" above the number.
The round barrel is marked "12-A" just in front of all the patent stuff...and "Remington" and the calibers. It also has the lock-screw set up on the screws holding the pump handle.
????? Thanks for the help!

Re: Need Help Dating a Model 12-A
According to Rem records yours was made in 1920, the year before they started using the date code.
The RW stands for Remington Works (internal name for the factory). The RW is stamped on all M/12s from your era.

Many thanks for your help. It's much appreciated. I'm sure I'll have other questions, but I'll post them separately. Again, many thanks!
