I recently expanded my Remington collection and purchased a 1976 Rem 581 in almost mint condition, but it is missing the rear sight. looks like it snapped off flush with the housing. I have been looking all over online and it seems like this must be a common issue since everyone i found that sells them is out of stock on that part.
are there any other models that used the same rear sight that could be interchanged with my rifle?
if i get one, i should cast it and make replacements myself, id make a mint.
any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Glad mine is mint. I've been looking for a spare for myself. They pop up on eBay now and then, but most owners won't send here to me in Canada. If you do cast some, please be open about shipping up here. LOL. Seriously though, start a search. I realize now that after my computer crashed, I no longer look for one-guess I'll have to start again.
