I was just given one of the above the other night as a gift. It is in nice used condition and appears to cycle correctly, I have not fired it yet, bore is excellent. Rifle made prior to 1920. It appears to be a take down model, how do you take it down? Have removed the large screw located on the left side of the action, cannot seem to split the rifle, have tried the cocked and uncocked postition, can one of you gentlemen please advise me. I have had no luck as yet finding a stripping sheet for it on the net

With the rifle cocked, pull out the TD screw and push down with one hand on pistol grip and pull up with other hand on the barrel just in front of the receiver. The two pieces fit together with vertical interlocking slides.
