Remington 30-S in 7,65 x53mm?

Post by beleg2 »

I have read that Remington chambered his model 30-S for the 7,65x53mm (also known as 7,65 Belgium or Argentine)
I would like to know how much were made?
Any information would help.
Thanks

It's true that the Model 30 -s was built in 7.65 argentine. Go to www.montywhitley.com and look through the "sold items" and you will see a nice one that he sold about a year ago. The price was around $2300 if I remember. Surely there were not many built in this caliber.

The history information on Remington's web site does not list 7,65 x 53 as one of the calibers for the model 30. It does list 7 x 57 mauser. The other members here may have better info that I have; but the Model 30 was a popular platform for making custom rifles due to the strength of the action. According to Remington production was about 22,800 rifles made with serial number range 00001 - 30560.
