45-70 COAL for a roller

Ok I have a NYS in 45-70. (yes it is spent a lot of research time to confirm). I have heard from several sources that the 500gr bullets wont make the bend into the chamber unless seated excessively deep in the cartridge. I finally got some brass and have been looking at some molds. I found a 450gr mold and a 500gr and would like to get both. I know that many have worked on their hammers so that longer rounds will fit but I don't want to do that to mine. What have you had success with? What 500gr bullet have you all found works in this action?

Update on an old post. I bought a lee 458-500-3R mold for this rifle and it shoots well too 500 with the military sights. I have done no mods to the rifle. Using Win fire formed brass trimmed to 2.1 the bullet is seated to just touch the rifling resulting in a COAL of 3.018" makes me wonder if it isnt actually a 45-90. The front driving band is contacting the lead at .214" ahead of the case mouth. This load has no issues making it into the chamber with the tall NYS hammer.
