Your 1900 was built about mid 1902. The K stands for K grade while the D indicates it has Damascus barrels. The absence of an E (as in KED) means your 1900 has extractors rather than ejectors. The symbols /// and P are somewhat unknown. There should be numbers stamped on the barrel lugs which indicate choke. If there are only two characters a leading 3 is assumed. Remington used a 1 1/4 oz load of #8 shot which amounts to 512 pellets fired at a 30" circle from 40 yds. So, for example if the lug is stamped 344 the degree of choke would be 67% or IM.

If you need a new forearm iron make sure it's for the extractor model.

Do the barrels have an extractor or the split ejectors? If it is a KD-Grade it must be one of the first ones.

When the K-quality guns (aka Model 1900) first appear in the first 1901 Remington Arms Co. catalog, there was only the K-Grade with plain extractors & Remington Steel barrels and the KED-Grade with ejectors & Damascus barrels. Those remained the offerings through the second 1901 catalog and both 1902 catalogs. In the 1903-04 Remington Arms Co. catalog they added the KD-Grade --

Finally by the first 1906 catalog they filled out the line by adding the KE-Grade with ejectors & Remington steel barrels.
