Model 11 20 gauge information needed

Post by coupe 32 »

Got a Model 11 20 gauge. It came with two barrels. A 26" imp cyl and a 30" Full The serial number is 1087476. The 30" barrel was on the shotgun when I got it. Any help to identify date of mfg? Thanks

That is a late one from after WW-II. The old factory ledger ends at 1070476 on 30 June 1942. We would need the two- or most likely three-letter date codes from the barrels to date the gun in question.

On the right side of both barrels in the back all I see is REP. On the 26" IMP cyl barrel on the bottom of the barrel in the back is stamped what looks like an arrow pointing up and then 2ERR and then a tool mark. no other letters found on the barrels. Modlel 11 stamped on side of the bolt.

The barrel date code is normally on the left side of the barrel just forward of the receiver. ERR is E = October, RR = 1946. Here is the choke marking, date code and inspector's mark on one of mine --
Choke, date code B = January TT = 1948

The REP in an oval is Remington's proof mark Remington Explosive Proof. The serial number of the gun should be stamped on each barrel at the base of the ring that goes around the magazine tube.

The M stands for one million, so the serial number is 1093714.
