Model 11...I think

Post by JwJ »

I have what I assume is a model 11 with serial number 161607 stamped on the barrel ring as well as in front of the loading port. It has "FULL" stamped on the left side of the barrel but also wears an adjustable Poly Choke. Assuming this was a add-on.
Any help in identifying year of manufacture would be greatly appreciated.

According to the best available serial number chronology, 161607 would be a 1914 vintage gun. If RR is a date code it would be November 1924. What is the company name on the barrel? In 1914 the company name was Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. By 1924 the company name was Remington Arms Co., Inc.

Remington didn't offer a factory Poly Choke until 1939.

If it's 1914-ish, could the RR be something other than a date stamp?

We are going to need to see pictures to tell anything more about this gun.
