We would have to see pictures to tell you the grade. The best available serial number chronology gives serial numbers 82,043 to 101,714 for 1910. In 1910, the company name was still Remington Arms Co. and the gun was called the Remington Autoloading Shotgun. In 1911, Marcellus Hartley Dodge combined his arms and ammunition companies as Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. and in their 1911-12 catalog they began calling the gun the Model No. 11.

After online research on the diffrent grades I am guessing it is after market engraving. Nicely done on all sides of the reciever, trigger guard, tang, and barrel

Engraved serial no is the key, Factory/Not.

Looks like a Remington Autoloading Shotgun No. 4 "Tournament" Grade --

Sorry Admin I do not believe that to be so.

In fact every Pre-60,000 Serial Numbered No.4 Tournament grade Remington Autoloading Shotguns that I own, have handled, or have seen pictures of have stamped serial numbers.

I also have and have seen factory examples of D, E, and F grades that do not have the loading port serial number engraved.

Tough to say never a hundred years later.

From what I see, I agree with Researcher that this is a Tournament Grade RAS.

It would take some additional pictures for me to distinguish if all the components are correct and I would have to be able to disassemble the gun to verify all is Kosher.

Nice gun, I am extremely found of them as they were the mainstay of my collecting for many years.

Merry Christmas,

Will

I guess that could be true on 11's but it's not on many others...

If you pull the stock is it marked?

In every case of the ones I have owned, Yes.

I also have examples in the Pre-Model 10 Remington Repeating Shotgun and would be inclined to think that the Remington Repeating Rifles would follow suit.

I have also owned an 11-48F that Jim Tipton authenticated as factory that had a stamped serial number.

Sincerely, Will
