1983 1100 28 ga

I believe I have a 1983 1100 28ga. Not 100% sure on the 1983 part but the only gun that I can find on google that looks exactly like the one I have just acquired is the 83 model. I can’t seem to find the serial code, does anyone know where it should be and does anyone know what it may be worth. It def needs cleaning and re blued ( not sure if I spelt that right) any help is appreciated.

The serial number will give you a ballpark on manufacture date. The barrel date code will nail it down IF it's the original barrel. The date code is on the left side of the barrel near the receiver. If you look around on this site there is a key to deciphering date codes.
I just sold a near mint 1969 Skeet 28 gauge.
