Remington Codes

What are the other codes that appear after the date codes found on Remington firearms that have been back to the factory. I believe a 3 is for repair, but what other numbers appear after the date code and what do they mean? I know I saw this posted somewhere but can't seem to find it now.

I have seen conflicting info on what they mean. I have seen all kinds of letters, numbers, and symbols over the years.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Remington's system for those repair/service codes has changed over the decades. We're already on the third variant of the 870's serial number format.

I hear the symbol before the manufacturing date is for the last inspector and the number after the date code is for the last assembler
