Remington 870 410 Info requested

Post by Becktex »

Hi - I recently purchased a Remington 870 LW 410 VR IMP CYL, probably 1977 year model. Wondering where I can find more info about this model - books? Articles? Curious as to how many manufactured, etc. Thank you.

No data on how many were made. No mahogany by 1977, if indeed it is a 1977 gun. No specific books I know of, but included in books like Kuhnhausen's book "The Remington Shotguns". I have an electronic copy of the 1977 catalog, but it only covers it like all the other normal production guns. Send me your email if you would like a copy.

No mahogany by 1977

You mean it was gone already?

I stand corrected, 1977 was the last year for mahogany in 20 gauge. Shouldn't have trusted to memory. :D The mahogany was introduced on standard frame 20 gauge 1100s in 1964 and they called that a "lightweight" before the LW size starting in 1971, and then it continued in the 20, and the 28 & .410 when they came along.
