Need help aging Remington Model 11 12 Gauge

Post by eneusiis »

I am having a hard time pinning down with little to no response from Remington on the year my inherited model 11 was produced. All the things I have read on here and other sights seem like there are gaps, and hoping someone can tell me when the 6XXXX series were produced. According to the charts I have seen somewhere between 1908 and 1911ish.

Can anyone narrow that down or help?

Thanks in advance

To add to this the safety is INSIDE the trigger guard in front of the trigger. The only other markings on the gun are "RP" on the barrel "FULL" which indicates a full choke of course.

Everything I am looking at is 1909-1910 after another round of research. Can anyone confirm that?

According to Jim Tipton's research 63,465 ended 1908 and the rest of the 60K serial numbers were produced in 1909.

ImageThanks Fowl! Then that would confirm 65,000 would fall in the 1909. Pretty sweet. I took it pheasant hunting this past weekend and it shot like a dream, its stocks have seen far better days and bluing is all but gone, and there doesn't appear to be much value to it, so I think I am going to restore it and continue to hunt with it.
