A small group on Model 11s

Post by SCQTT »

I have a small group of Model 11s that I inherited from my father. I know they are not worth much, but they are priceless to me because they belonged to my father. He acquired them all used from local gun stores and auctions. Some are nice and some are beat. He did not really go out of his way to search them out, he just bought them as they presented themselves. I do not think there is anything special about any of them, this site has been a wealth of information since I found it a few days ago. Perhaps someone can help with the mfg. dates the 16s and 20s seem more challenging to me to nail down date wise.

1579223 16G
1587023 16G

1051660 20G

I just bought a "Military Finish" 12 gauge at a gun show on Saturday. 477606. The receiver has the right marks, but the stock and barrel have no military markings that I can find.

A couple of the 16s & 20s are the 3 shot varieties. Some have birds and The Sportsman markings, some do not.

In a weird twist the 12 gauges he had were all A-5s, while the model 11s were all 16s & 20s.
