Another Remington 1100 Manufacturing date question

Post by DSMCasey »

I read the posts. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I still can't figure out when possibly this gun could have been manufactured.

Barrel code on left side Appears to be: "NPKE" or possibly "NRKE"
Receiver code is: 570**V

See pictures if you have questions.

November 1963 is when the barrel was stamped, if that's the original barrel, and it very likely is. the gun was likely late 1963 or early 1964. The 'E' is an inspector code. Neat how those early barrels have that long unventilated section at the receiver. I have 50***V, bought new in 1963.
What could have happened... did.
