I am looking at a Model 11 S/N 144543. There is no letter code on the gun. In fact, the S/N is the only readable information there. Society mfg. page won't let me look without a 3 letter code. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks,

Re: Model 11 date...
According to the serial number chronology in James Tipton's article on the Remington Autoloading Shotgun/Model 11, serial number 144543 would be of 1913 vintage. At that date the company name on the gun should be Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. (1911 to 1916).

Thanks so much. Where can I find the article you referenced? I own my father's S/N 255979. Always thought it was 1921.

Re: Model 11 date...
James Tipton's article was published in the Remington Society of America Journal, 2nd Quarter 2000. I've been told that supplies of that issue are exhausted. A later "improved" version of the article was up on the Remington Arms Co., Inc. site for several years.
The old "between the Wars" factory ledger, that is available on this web site, shows that the receiver with serial number 255979 would have been put in work during April of 1923.
