Remington Model 17 shotgun made with 15" barrel.

Who has information about the Remington Model 17 hammerless slide action shotgun made by Remington with a 15" barrel and a simple pistol grip in the late 1920s. It is my understanding that these were produced for police use, specifically for the Bridgeport CT police dept. Any records in the factory of serial ranges or quantities? Does anyone have any knowledge of the Bridgeport PD history that might mention these guns?
