Remington 1894 AE in 10 Gauge

Post by Elliot »

I came across one of these recently and wondered if any one knew how many were made in 10 Gauge? Other than missing the rear swivel, the guns is in excellent condition and has nice Damascus barrels with absolutely no pittting. Where could I find more information about the Remington 1894 shotgun?

10-Gauge Model 1894

For information on all Remington double barrel shotguns, you need Charles Semmer's book Remington Double Shotguns, which is available from the author via links from this web site. It has been my experience that the vast majority of Remington Model 1894s I run into are 12-gauge guns, with a handful of 16-gauge guns and very rarely 10-gauge guns. 10-gauge guns seem to be somewhat more common in the Remington hammer doubles. I have never seen a breakout by gauge of the Remington Model 1894, and I imagine that information no longer exists.
