1889 remington shotgun parts.

Post by ganderson1966 »

I need a stock and butt plate for the gun. Its a grade 1. Mine has a home made stock that is nothing close. I would take a used stock that needs work. Worse case I could patch it up and have it sent for a duplicate to be made. Also looking for the top screw that goes through the metal into the forearm.

Stocks and butt plates come up on eBay from time to time and I'd start there. If you buy a repro butt plate make sure it has the Neider point. Also, inletted semi-finished repro stocks are available from several different sources. Takes some work for final fitting & finishing but worth the effort.

As for the screw -- if I'm looking at the correct one (by the pivot) it is a #4 or #6 flat head wood screw about 3/8 - 1/2" long.

If you can't find one anywhere else try Brad Bachelder at 1-616-459-3636.

I should have mentioned that the butt plate for the 1889 is the same as used on the Model 1894 and early Model 1900.
