Hi. Based on what I have found thus far I have a 12 Gauge Remington Model 1900 Hammerless Double Barrel Shotgun. I've searched the forum, and elsewhere in silico, for the meaning of the KGI on barrels under forearm. P is also stamped on the barrel.
Thanks in advance for any insight

The K on the barrels is Grade of model 1900, the P is for Remington Proof
Charles Semmer thought the /// it had 30" barrels
The rest I do not know

Re: Remington 1900 12 gauge KGI
The 1900 is a reduced cost version of the Model 1894. It was offered as a K grade with four variations available. Production of all SxSs (1900, 1894 and 1889) ended in 1910 as Remington saw the future in terms of their new pump and auto-loader.
From least to most expensive --
K - extractors and Remington steel barrels
KE - ejectors and Remington steel barrels
KD - extractors and Damascus barrels
KED - ejectors and Damascus barrels
As Don states, most of the remaining stamps are lost to the mist of time. If you have further interest, a good source is Charles Semmer's book Remington Double Shotguns which is available on this site.

Thanks to both for the information. I wasn't aware that P is for Remington Proof
I guess the GI in KGI remains a mystery
