Ok, I really hate to ask this but what is a realistic price to pay for a nice 1894 CEO with 28" barrels? I have a chance to buy one and I would like to know what would be a decent offer to make.

Condition and originality are everything in setting a market price on these old doubles. but in general I'd say $4500 to $5000 nowadays for a nice 12-gauge CEO-Grade. More for a 10- or 16-gauge.

Thanks Dave, that is exactly the info I was looking for. I'm not sure that the butt stock on this gun is original but the asking price makes this an attractive gun for me.
