Barrel info for a 1894 16ga sxs

Post by Raymond Brown »

Hello can anyone tell me if barrels for a 16ga 1900 sxs will fit a 16ga model 1894 sxs. I have the 1894 and need barrels for it and can only seem to find barrels for model 1900. Thanks for the help.

The barrels of Remington Hammerless Doubles were all individually hand fit to their respective actions. There is a chance that a set from another gun can be made to fit, with liberal application of $ to a well qualified double gun smith. Over the years Remington used three different barrel lugs on their hammerless doubles --

And also the top ribs could be either flat or concave (hollow) --

Finally K-grade forearm loops are different than those used on graded guns, and there were at least three different ones used on the graded guns over time --
