Gentlemen,
I have a Rem 1894, external hammers, I believe grade #4 (according to pictures in Charles Semmers Remington book). This gun has rifle sights which, again from Mr. Semmers book is possibly from the factory. I would like to shot the gun but, from the book, believe it has demascus barrels. Currently they are blued and do not show the demascus pattern. In keeping with its heritage I would like to create some black powder loads in some brass shells I have procured. I have collected several old books but none are old enough to suggest black powder loads. My interest is in both shot and slugs, preferably slugs as this gun was set up for them. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.
Darren
