Remington targetmaster 510

Post by dcrocket78 »

I have come into possession of a Remington targetmaster 510 with a date of December 1940 (as Remington told me with the letters on barrel). It is a single bolt action 22 short long or long rifle. Stock in great condition barrel is well used. Wondering if the stock has been redone and trying to figure out if there is a way to tell what number in production this one is and how many of these were made. Also someone put there initial inside stock under barrel (JL CARTER). Any help would be great..

I've a 510 code ARR, around 1946. It is in excellent condition, even the barrel.

It belonged to my neighbor who bought it new as a young man, apparently right out of high school as he would have been 18 that year.

Put a new butt plate on it from Gun Parts Corp, Chinese knockoff but what are you going to do? Fit it with the Wheeler fixture.

I had a cousin around Warren AR with those initials and last name (my middle name) who loved to hunt and fish his cabin in the Ozarks.
