Year manufactured: Rem 700, BDL, 30-06

Post by mattsincrete »

I have a Rem 700 BDL 30-06 that I am trying to determine year manufactured. The serial number is just 6 digits without any lettering in front. There are a couple different barrel stamps (See pics). On the left side of barrel, there is a series of 4 markings. From left to right it looks like a sideways CC then a C W 79. So, my guess from looking at other charts, the C is April and the W would be 1972? I have had the rifle since about 1994.

I am also curious about what the other markings mean. On the right side there is the stamps of the Magnaflux, Proof and target. I would like to know what these mean, but mostly want to verify year manufactured.

Thanks again,

Should be a 7 digit serial number and your dating is spot on. RHS markings are all you said but for TEST proof
