Model 550-1 rust blued?

I am in the process of restoring a March 1952 manufactured Remington 550-1. What remains of the original bluing looks to me to be rust blue. Other early 550-1s I've seen online also seem to have the dull sheen of rust bluing. Can anyone here tell me if Remington used rust bluing in that time period?

Yes! ...........this was going to be my quick reply but was told I needed to use up "at least 40 characters". I don't know exactly when they made the changeover, probably in the mid 50's on most models.
