Model 141 game master questions

Post by Logan1 »

Hello everyone, new here and have some questions on a gun I just picked up from a friend. It’s a model 141 game master chambered in 32 Remington. I did a lot of reading on here trying to figure out manufacture date and collectibility. Seems like this gun has a lot history to it that can make it worthless to collecable. I believe it was built in 1935 and does not have the short carbine barrel. Would just like to know what I really have and what it would be worth doing. Fix it up and put some money in it or just leave it sit.

Barrel length 23 3/8 inches
Overall 42 3/4
32 Remington
S/N by the thumb screw 8698

The serial puts it in 1935 production but the barrel code (2 letters) would tell you exactly. The code is located on the left side of the barrel just in front of the frame, an example would be "KD".

It would appear as though your rifle has been drilled on the top of the frame along with the top of the barrel from what I can see. What other deprivations were made to the rifle are not clear but my rule of thumb is to deduct about $50 per drilled hole. That being said, if you bought it to hunt with then who cares! You can buy pretty decent loaded rounds of .32 Remington from Buffalo Arms BUT whatever you choose to use, be sure they have round nose bullets!

Pass on the barrel code and we can readily date your rifle.
