model 14 parts

I'm in need of a action bar cover for a model 14 rem. I think they are universal for all cal. If anyone has a connection please let me know. I found a cartridge stop at "Jack First" I think they have to be fitted, but was a good find if anyone else is looking for one part and shippping was $45. also I have never seen a model 14 in working order so I have to ask: should the magazine follower extend behind the loading gate 3/8 of an inch? if not is it wore or is there a part that stops it from extending to far? Rifle was sold to me as " excellent condition" on gun broker by a gun dealer/gun smith! who was asked by me to check it for safety and function before shipping. Now i'm stuck with it. but determined to make the "Old Gun" get a new life. Thanks for any help or info you may have.
