Looking for a firing pin for a Remington Rolling Block Rifle chambered in 50-70

Post by johtpeyt »

I am an intern at the Custer Battlefield Museum in Garryowen, Montana and am looking for a firing pin for a vintage Remington Rolling Block rifle that most likely dates back to before 1873. The gun is chambered in 50-70. It does not have any serial numbers or marking on it, and it is a rifle that an infantryman most likely would have used, not a carbine, or sporterized model. What is the best way to track down a firing pin for this weapon, or does anyone have one for sale?
