Identifying a Ramrod?

Post by wlw-19958 »

Hi There,

After some time, I've come to the conclusion that the ramrod
on my #1 type 4 Spanish rolling block isn't the correct one. I
recently purchased a reproduction ramrod from Kenn Womack
and I am satisfied with it.

But I am curious as to what ramrod was substituted for the correct
one? So, I will post some pictures and ask the community here to
se if anyone recognizes it and can shed some light. Please look at
the one in the center. I have bracketed the one in question with
an original from a Danish contract Remington rolling block on top
and the reproduction on the bottom.

The over-all length is exactly 34". The head is .418" in diameter and the
length of the head is about 1.340". The threaded end as pictured look as
if the threads were filed by hand and are too course for the threaded plate
in the front of the receiver.

Does this look familiar to anyone?

Thanks for your time and interest!
