What you have is a 1867 Navy carbine, they were never used by the New York State Coast Guard. There were approximately 5000 made. After they became surplus most were converted into other guns. It is a very rare gun to find in its original configuration. The FCW inspector initials stamped on the receiver, the forearm and the stock, stand for Frank C. Warner. The Gun was chambered in 50-45 centerfire, the 50 is the diameter of the bullet behind 45 grs. of black powder.
