Remington Model 41, ?Question?

Post by AKRedneck »

I have just received, on partial trade, a Remington Model 41 TargetMaster, i think it is awesome that it fires shorts, long and lr. definitely an incredible gun. i did a little research and found there were 307,000 of these guns ever made in the late 1930's, thats correct?
# 83,680 is the number on the bottom of the barrel near the stock, on the left side i believe it is DD, then i am not sure of the third marking.
I was curious to the history behind this antique, mine is in pretty good condition. Also, what is the collector value of these guns? I am keeping it, this i will not get rid of, just curious as to what i have.
Is there an way of knowing how many of these rifles are still owned?

On another subject i also have a Model 522 Viper, and am in need of a bolt return spring, and would like a few extra magazines, if anyone could point me to where i can find them that would be awesome!

DD is Sept 1935.

If these not some up for sale I would set up a watch on gunbroker.com and/or gunsamerica.com for the part/magazines,
