Rem 1900 dbl

Post by Chief »

I read several posts before I registered as a new member, so I'm not familiar with how to rediscover the posts I had read earlier. However, I am familiar with the model 1900 markings to a degree, but I didn't see any posts explaing the "K F 6" markings. Everything I was able to read talked about the "K", or "K E D", but nothing about mine. Thanks for any insight... Chief

Barrel stampings on the 1900 are still a source of mystery to a degree. Remington was fairly consistent when stamping K, E and D but some guns leave out the E for example. The 1900 was offered in 4 versions: K, KE, KD and KED. The addition of ejectors (E) and/or damascus barrels(D) would add cost to the basic K model. Your 1900 stamped KF6 should indicate that it is a K grade fitted with Remington steel barrels and extractors. The meaning of other letters, numbers and symbols is a mystery.
