Remington model 12 ejector spring/plunger

Post by ltjc5 »

Hi,
New to forum, love reading it , but now have a question about a model 12 rifle. I disassembled my model 12 to repair / replace some action parts and found a different style ejector spring in this gun. It is not a spring, but a plunger type arrangement with a tube enclosing the spring that activates the plunger return after the bolt has compressed it. All my other 12's have the bent spring style screwed in from the rear. This plunger type is/was screwed in place from the front of the frame. Now to the question does any one know the name of this part, and does anyone know the size of the screw needed to to screw plunger part back in place? I lost the screw before I could reassemble the action.
Thanks for any info ltjc5
