new to me .17 BDL
Just received my Model 700 BDL in .17 Rem. What would be the best mounting system for the Leupold Vlll 6.5x20x40mm? Leupold offers the standard one piece base, or the dual dovetail base. (2 pcs.) Just looking for opinions on which one is best. (pros or cons). thanks

Here's my $.02 worth.
The one-piece base makes access to the ejection port more difficult. Some may argue that it is stronger. I would argue that if the action isn't strong enough to support the scope, maybe you shouldn't be shooting it. The two-piece is my preference for the model 700.
