722 engraved

I have a 722 in .222 that was made in 1955 by the serial#. It is factory engraved but has the wood that is on a hunter model. Does anybody know if this came this way ? Do you think the wood was changed? Where could I find some fancy wood with checkering(seen picture of engraved 722 with checked wood but was made in 1960.

Post a picture. What's the certainty that it is factory engraved?

It is the same as a picture posted on this forum under share your pictures of factory checked 721/722 posted by Gene Myskowski on Oct 2 2008 but the wood on that pictures is checkered but figured the gun was 1960
