ID-ing Remington New Model Army #16921
Looking for date info and anything else available on serial # 16921. Thank you.

Hello Mark,
Your revolver was made in March of 1863. It is probably a transition revolver which means is has parts of the previous Elliot model and the New Model. If it has a cone front sight and or a two line barrel address it is a transition revolver. Unfortunately there is no information as to which soldier or unit the revolver was issued.
I Hope this helps,
Bill

Thanks Bill! Silver cone sight and two line barrel marking is there. The grip cartouche is there but hard to decipher. Came from a West Virginia gunsmith in 1966 as a birthday gift.
