Remington Elliot's Ring Derringer with Metal Grips, Original??

Post by MotoGP1199 »

I recently purchased a Remington Elliot's ring trigger 4 barrel derringer in .32 RF Short. I have seen many of these before and have always wanted one. This one I came across has metal grips and I'm not sure what to make of it. The grips definitely look old. Are they original to the gun? If so do they add any value. What else can you tell me about this derringer. S/N is 10899 and everything seems to function perfectly, it also still has the spring that keeps tension on the ring trigger which I almost never see intact. Finish is not the greatest. Thanks

I can't say on the grips would really need those in hand, Remington no a retailer possibly?

I'm glad to hear it's a trigger tension not to pop up the barrel I hear that occasionally and I've see a whole lot of "replacement" springs as well but as you probably know the originals are are a bit odd shaped and easy to tell. It's a first variation frame, my best guess for when the second variation started is around 18,000.
