Info

Post by Jay Heald »

I have a 1894 DE, Side By Side 12 Gauge, serial number 112480. I know it was made in 1899 but looking for an individual. Is there any info out there about this gun?

Jay - As best I can recall there are only approximately 40 D grade guns known to exist. This is out of a total production of 41,194 of all 1894 grades. Only the E grade and Specials exceed the quality (and quantity) of workmanship.

For more information you may wish to consult Charles Semmer's book Remington Double Shotguns.

The info provided was from the gun dealer. After further review the gun is stamped with a D and also stamped with an F. Is Mr. Semmer still alive? Would love to speak with him.

Sadly, Mr. Semmer passed on a year or so ago.

We really need pics to see what is being discussed.

Hi Jay,

You might try reposting this in the shotgun section for better results.
Good luck,
Dan
